Description:

Metaverse is a 2D/3D virtual environment and can be used for asset transactions over blockchain and cryptocurrencies. However, current metaverse systems are mostly non-business related, e.g., gaming, touring, entertainment. To conduct business dealing on metaverse safely, a business needs to be able to verify the avatar client identity and credential. On the other hand, the avatar client needs to protect his privacy and identity. This project seeks to develop solutions to enhance the viability of metaverse as a secure place for conducting business. This project will develop an identity NFT (Non-Fungible Token), a self-sovereign identity, and a zero-knowledge proof identity NFT ownership authentication. Each identity NFT has an owner and links his identities in virtual world, blockchain, and real world. Self-sovereign identity allows the user to control the disclosure of his identity and credential information. When he discloses his credential information, he can choose to provide proof that his credentials fulfil specific criteria without disclosing his full credential information. The zero-knowledge proof identity NFT ownership authentication adds additional protection to prevent false claim of ownership of identity NFT in the open cyberspace.
