Description:

This Project aims to research, align and develop 5G Core according to industry requirements with evolved 5G Core enabled digital transformation for Smart Manufacturing including: - Evolved 5G Core Network Functions - Evolved 5G Core Architecture - Evolved 5G Core system integration and testing This R&D direction is in line with Hong Kong's Re-Industrialization plan and Mainland China’s “5G + Industrial Internet” plan on developing new economic pillars: promote R&D and re-industrialization, to enable digital transformation for industry 4.0. This project will realize commercialization through eco-system partners in Hong Kong, Greater Bay Area, and Mainland China, and maintain tech leadership for extended impact for ASTRI's 5G Core.

Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research.
