Description:

The electronic design automation (EDA) is crucial to IC industry because it can leverage the trillion-dollar chip market. Therefore, EDA is hailed as the crown jewel of the semiconductor industry. On the other hand, design reuse is critical to the semiconductor market and IP/process migration enables the rapid delivery of analog and mixed signal IP. Therefore, IP/process migration EDA is not only a technology need, but also a market need. The objective of this project is to develop IP/process migration EDA tools, including circuit schematic level and physical layout level. A set of research methodology with simulation and verification will be used in the project. The EDA tools to be developed will include 3 key modules, i.e. schematic porting tool, layout migration tool and automated resizing tool (preliminary exploration). The project will generate the first EDA tools for circuit migration and IP porting in the Great China Region, greatly help IC companies to increase productivity and reduce time to market, which makes significant sense for local and worldwide semiconductor industry.
